Near the ancient town of Pula, settled picturesque Town Fazana and National park Brijuni, islands with the attributes of paradise. Fazana of today has developed into a place of family tourism. It is rich in Roman heritage and fishing traditions which can be experienced daily at Fazana’s seafront. Must have to experience labyrinth of small squares and streets and feel the rhythm of everyday life with the scents from the local kitchen. Stone houses and grandiose church towers reflect the peacefulness of the times past.

The National Park Brijuni is an oasis of the magnificent harmony between man, animal and plant life. With almost 700 plant species and about 250 bird species inhabit on the islands, whereas the mild Mediterranean climate makes it a pleasant health resort.

Veliki Brijun the largest of 14 islands can by visited by local ferry, here will surprise you the traces of dinosaurs, remains of Antiquity and past periods. Achievements of modern times are all present in this area, whose development as an exclusive resort dated from 1893 and thanks to the “old Austrian”, the industrialist Paul Kupelwieser, owner of the Brijuni Islands. This fashionable seaside resort and one of the leading health resorts started developing and gaining popularity all over Europe and worldwide, but this unfortunately ended with the beginning of World War I.From then islands Brijuni were mostly known for the political activities of Marshal Josip Broz Tito, the former president of past Yugoslavia, who arrived on Brijuni for the first time in 1947 and from then were mostly closed for public, until Croatia gained its sovereignty on 1991.

The usual Brijuni tour starts with short introduction by tourist train that takes visitors through all the different natural beauties: The Safari park, The Byzantine castrum, the Roman residential villa in Verige Bay and many other interesting sights. Right by the harbour, close to hotels “Istra”, “Neptun” and “Karmen” has located the church of St. Mary from the 15th century, which houses an exhibit of Istrian frescoes and copies of glagolitic monuments.

Town Fazana is the ideal place for cycling experience of close and distant surrounding destinations and amenities. Sixty bike trails – of which about 1,500 kilometers circular route follow throughout Peninsula Istria!

Sports facilities on the island Brijuni date from far 1922 year and recently as an integral part of the rich tourist offer golf course with 18 holes on a total area of 5850 m2.
